little update

I feel like I haven't posted for ages- been super busy settling into my job and travelling to see my bf :)

I need to get some sort of routine set up and find time to do some posts. I have aching feet and sore back from standing for about 9 hours, but it's nice to be doing something and have money at last! Although I found out that no one can have time off in December due to some retail policy, so there goes any chance of going to bf's graduation, or doing anything for my birthday- really really unhappy about this.
I haven't bought anything new/interesting for ages, and I won't be until payday next month (sigh). The next big thing is my holiday in October with Adam, going away for a week to a little cottage and I cannot wait!!! Although I hope the weather holds and doesn't snow like everyone keeps telling me it's going to... we're hopefully going to Longleat!

Anyway, here's a pug or two :)

GlossyBox (September)

Really happy with my first ever GlossyBox (ordered back in June due to a huge waiting list!) I think the concept is a winning one, although I have read lots of unhappy reviews for the previous few boxes. Not going to judge though until I've had a few more! I think my favorite items are the HD Brow set (probably going to use this as eyeshadow as my brows don't need a lot of definition) and the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse dry oil- apparently oil is good for oily/combination skin, so I'll be giving that a go. I did try out the StriVectin eye cream last night and woke up with some red skin where I applied it, I think I might give this to my mum, if the same happens to her then it's going in the bin. I have yet to try the L'Oreal Hair Oil and the perfume sample, but both look very promising. I am very impressed with GlossyBox, it seems to be a great way to try new brands, or products from more familiar brands that you might not necessarily have heard about. Already looking forward to next month's!

In other news, I have a job! I start tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be training to be a Pharmaceutical Dispenser, and I'll come out with two NVQs which is brilliant. It will be hard work but I'm happy to be doing something at last!

Models Own

Peacock Green, Bubblegum, Green Grass, Utopia.
Models Own Wah Nails Pen- Black.

This is what I purchased in the recent Models Own 50% sale. Above are some designs and swatches I tried out on my false nails. Overall I'm very pleased with the products- they're a lot better than the Barry M polishes, but unless you push in the sides of the lid when unscrewing it the brush gets left in the bottle sometimes, not something I'd expect from a £5 bottle of nail varnish... But the coverage and consistency is brilliant. Unless there's another offer, or I'm feeling rich, I wouldn't shell out a fiver for one bottle, it's a bit over priced. The nail art pen is worth it however, and I'm really happy with it. I've been trying out lots of designs and my favorite to do is leopard print- really easy to achieve, it just makes your nails look a bit different.

I also got a No7 varnish too, only £2 with the £5 off voucher- a lovely dark blue with subtle sparkles in- I really want to try out 'galaxy nails' but I'll need a sparkle polish for that.

No7 Betty Blues

Today I'm watching the most cringe inducing day time tv in the form of Neighbors- when did it get so bad (or has it always been...)? Hopefully hearing about my interview tomorrow, I hate waiting for phone calls...

Lip Talk

Lip pencil in Redd. Cremesheen Lipsticks in Speed Dial & Shy Girl. All MAC.

Just some stuff that arrived today. Really pleased with it all, but I want to get my hands on Hue lipstick as I've heard it's being discontinued next year?! Shame it's sold out online. I had an interview today, I won't say too much about it unless nothing comes of it, I should hear by Friday. Fingers majorly crossed!

Leopard Nails

nails- ebay. Models Own Utopia, Bubblegum and Nail Art Pen in black.

First attempt at false nails and I only had to re-apply one this morning, feeling pretty smug. They were like talons when I applied them, so out came the nail scissors. I find painting designs on so much easier now, no more smudging, mess or gloop on the side of your nails. Getting them off might be interesting and I am a bit worried that they aren't good for my natural nails, so lots of strengthener might have to be used as a base coat. I had to buy glue seperately, Boots' own, which was cheap and actually worked, although I had to stick a pin down the tube to keep it from sealing itself... Anyway, my room is littered with painted nails now, so expect more designs from now on.

I also found an amazing hair colour on youtube today, the girl had half silver/white blonde and half cherry red, it looked beautiful. When I have money I may try this out, although silver blonde might be easier. Sorry hair, prepare to be ruined once again.
