GOODWOOD REVIVAL 2012

Words cannot express how good this weekend was, it was like stepping back in time and I cannot wait to do it all again next year. The clothes, the sheer amount of fox furs, the cars, the vintage Tesco complete with original packaging and cigarettes available at the checkout, the classic telephone box cash machine, the racing drivers' pits, the atmosphere of seeing the motorsport at dusk. Oh Goodwood, see you next year for more amazing experiences! Love, love, LOVE.

Days Out: Dorset Chilli Festival

This was such a good event! Even though the sky looks gloomy in the pictures it was boiling! I really recommend you go to this if you are near the area (St Giles house, near Wimborne, Dorset) and it's on, even if you aren't a chilli fan, there's lots to do and see. We had a yummy burger and the biggest ice cream of my life- chocolate & toffee- epic! And I still managed to lose 2.5lbs this week! We bought my brother some extreme chilli dipping sauce with Naga chillies which are some of the hottest in the world, plus a really cool chilli plant from a company who featured on the first series of River Cottage, sadly Hugh wasn't there!

Anyway, like I said it was a brilliant day out and nice to see and try things from local companies. This week I also finished my NVQ at work, so if I have passed this module then I'm a qualified Dispenser, with a pay rise! Fingers crossed. We are going out at the weekend to a NT Property as it's my dad's birthday, so expect some pictures to follow.

Wilton House outing

I could quite happily live here- half of it is still privately owned, lucky people! We wandered around the beautiful grounds, ate a picnic plus a very yummy caramel fudge ice cream, and took Adam's little sister to the adventure play ground- haven't enjoyed myself so much in ages! We went to a quiz night that evening and our team managed to win! I had quite an indulgent weekend food wise, but still managed to loose 1.5lbs at slimming world- score!

Today I took my new Cinnamon Trust dog for a walk, he had a nice swim in the river and succeeded to splash me until I was pretty soaked, but it was so hot I forgave him haha. I hope this little heatwave lasts!

I have some new Avon makeup to show and review soon, plus this month's favourites and also Glossybox as usual. I just need to get on and photograph everything, but when this weather makes a rare appearence I want to make the most of it outside.
My Goodwood Revival tickets came, so I have been putting together a 1940s outfit and watching numerous youtube videos for hair style inspiration, think it's victory roll time! Just got about 8 weeks to find a cheap curling wand, some pin curl clips and also practice!!

Have you been enjoying the sun? I have yet to get a decent tan... time for some St. Tropez magic!

The Weekend Post: I Capture the Castle

I went to a National Trust castle today, not far from where I live. It was amazing weather- really hot and sunny for a change (hello summer??), and I took my Pentax and my digital camera. I seem to be developing a love of taking macro shots of plants, there is something quite satisfying about getting a really detailed photograph, I wish my film camera could do this but I really need a lens for this type of photography, hopefully ebay might have the answer!

The gardens there were lovely, especially the tiny wendy house plus miniature garden- so cute! I wore my disco pants out for the first time, they are very comfortable despite being quite thick and very very tight on the legs, but I didn't feel self-conscious in them and I can see them becoming a wardrobe staple, I'm very glad I invested!

This week I'll be braving the rain, taking a new dog for a walk on Wednesday for the Cinnamon Trust, and getting ready to head to Dorset on Friday evening, I'm a bit worried that the road I take will be closed due to flooding, so I really want some more typical July weather to make an appearance! Please?!

Weekend Post: beside the sea

We visited Lyme Regis on Sunday, it was boiling hot (for a change!) and I was glad to be near the sea and the breeze. Fossil hunting was on the agenda, but the tide was in and it was too dangerous to try and get onto the fossil beach, we did find an amazing vintage/antiques warehouse along the beach front which I suggest you visit, as it sells anything you can think of (clothing, jewellery, furniture etc) and it's all very reasonably priced- I saw lots of things under £10. Sadly I didn't buy anything, I couldn't find anything I really needed, but I'm already planning on when I can return, I adore places like that, it was so big you could have spent hours looking around!

The shops in Lyme Regis are very quaint, full of old bookshops, fossil specialists and art galleries. I would love to have a little break there to make the most of the town and also the beautiful countryside around it. I snapped some pastel beach huts and some unique architecture, not many houses look the same! We had a lovely lunch- a pint of prawns! I couldn't finish it all, there was so much.

Today I took Adam back to the station and we had lunch in Exeter first. We went to a cute little tea rooms on the Cathedral Green and I took a picture of some tea I had- a tea burst! It's a flower you soak in hot water and it opens, releasing it's flavour. Yum! You could buy them for £1.50 each, but I might look for some cheaper options. I love trying new tea :) I also picked up some sale items, expect a little post on here soon!

I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday, hopefully I'm feeling better by then as my glands have been playing up and I'm not feeling so good today, as I have a 9 hour shift tomorrow I'm hoping they'll improve tonight!
