Murad primer, MAC Studio Fix in NW20, Clarins creams via Glossybox, MAC Expensive Pink shadow, No7 & Avon mascara, Avon supershock gel eyeliner pencil.

 Firstly, where is the snow?! Everywhere but here it seems :( I thought I would make an entry about the new makeup items I acquired over the last week or so, one of the girls I work with has become an Avon lady, I always used to get a catalogue to my door every month, but then I went to Uni and they stopped. I had heard lots of good things about the gel eyeliner and it was free if you bought the mascara which was half price anyway. I'm testing it out today and so far I'm very pleased. The mascara is ok, not as good as the No7 one pictured- that is amazing and seriously worth a look. A few naughty mac purchases too, very happy with the shadow, the foundation might have to grow on me though- not the easiest to get out of the bottle- might have to get a pump...

 I'm not going to do a Glossybox post, due to being lazy ;), so I have included my favourite items from the Valentines box: the Murad primer and the Clarins creams- nice to try them and in decent sample sizes too. Not massively keen on the Eyeko liner- I find it drags and dark blue is not really my colour when it comes to makeup, still a nice product to receive though- makes a change from perfume samples ;)

 The only clothing store in our town is closing soon- Peacock's. Although I wouldn't always choose to shop here, a few nice items can be found if you rummage around, I found some teal chino's for £9 yesterday :)  I really hope another clothes store opens up or I will have nothing- the nearest good clothes shops are about 15 miles away- living in a rubbish rural town really does have it's downsides.

My pictures look a little different today- I edit them using picnik, a free editing program, although I found out today it's closing in April (notice a trend here?). But their premium package is free until then, so if you've ever thought about signing up do it now!! I might have to bit the bullet and pay for Photoshop after April...and get around to updating my mac- oh to win the lottery!


 I lost another lb at slimming world this week, so 5.5lbs has come off overall. I'm also going to invest in this- a good workout dvd so I can exercise in my comfy lounge and not have to face any gym scenes...cannot think of anything worse!

the Red lip

Shade No 2- Power by Poppy King for No7.

Picked this up with my £5 off No7 voucher 2 weeks ago and already I've worn it loads. I thought I didn't suit a red lip but this has made me think again. It's a very pinky based red, moisturising, and can be built up into a deeper, intense shade. No lip liner needed, and it's never feathered on me :) This retails for around £11 (full price), but if you have a spare voucher then this product is really worth a look. Next time this promotion is on I'm definitely going to pick up another shade. Win.

Got my Glossybox today, well worth the wait!

on a Sunday...

 

It's a rainy Sunday, so I messed around with the tripod and poor light...voila! My hair looks like it has red tips, it hasn't. I haven't worn this skirt for an age, but after losing 4.5 lbs it does up properly now and I can breathe ahaa, the magic of slimming world...
Today I am going to make my bf's valentines card with paint and a potato, a cheap but nice (hopefully) gift.

Green Tea

Leopard print nails and new mascara are the highlights of my week, apart from payday ;)

I'm looking forward to having a few days of lie-ins, drinking gallons of tea, taking more photographs and the next episode of Birdsong. Eddie Redmayne is divine, end of.

 I've been a bit slack on posting, sorry little blog, have some pictures of some new additions to my room :) My bf got me some jewellery hangers for Christmas/bday that I badly needed, plus a lovely tea themed picture! I've been picking up some more bits and bobs and it's all coming on nicely- just got to get on with my film picture collage and it will be nearly finished.

Not much new stuff to report, as usual I've been working away and saving. My mini will be up for sale soon, so that will give me some more cash, plus I need to clear out my clothing stash and put that on ebay to make some more pennies. I am saving for another mini, a cooper. I need around 4k saved so it won't be for a while, but it'll be so nice to own and pay for my own car (and on one of these I can actually afford tax & insurance)- bit of an achievement for someone like me who is appalling at saving... roll on six months.

I think the highlight of my week has been buying a filofax (yes my life is that dull) for £3 instead of £13.99- the idiotic shop assistant couldn't read the price tag so I didn't argue... it's a very nice pocket sized red one, I have never owned a hand bag-sized diary so this seems like a good investment. I haven't bought any clothes for ages- my last purchase was before Christmas- a very expensive Topshop coat which I am now thinking of putting on ebay as I only wear the fur stole off of it, and the shape of the coat doesn't suit me- I'll be cheekily keeping the fur though!

We are currently cat sitting again, he really thinks he's a dog as he lives with one normally, and is addicted to catnip and sleeping on my bed- it's so nice to have a cat again, if only for a short while.  Hopefully when we move we can have a permanent one again :)

Going to my friend's house on Thursday evening for wine and chatting- cannot wait to see some much missed faces!

My post title is referring to a new program coming to bbc1 this year, based on a book by Sebastian Faulks. It looks amazing and I need to read it before I see it!
